More Lines and Spaces

You will notice that when the notes go off the stave they have a line going through them.
 

This line is called a ledger line and it shows us what the notes are when they go above or below the stave.

 

Here are some more notes below and above the stave.

 

 

 

 

 

Music only uses the letters A B C D E F G.

So for a C scale the notes are C D E F G A B C.

A Scale has 8 notes and in music a distance of 8 notes is called an octave.
For example low C to high C is an Octave.

 

 

Sometimes in a piece of music you may see bar lines that have 2 dots next to them, these are called repeat marks.


Normally you play the music which is between the repeat marks twice.
(sometimes you have to repeat it more than twice)
